Course Descriptions

Cabbage Tree - XC/Trail

Located just 10 minutes South West of Nowra, the Cabbage Tree course has something for everyone other than the hardened gravity crew.  Approximately 6km in length, relatively flat, but loaded with tight and twisty corners and a smattering of natural obstacles (read trees) helps keep the fun factor set to high.  Part of our annual XC race calendar and also used for our inaugural night enduro, this course is unique in that it can be raced on in either direction.   Single Speeders, break out the 16 tooth cog and rejoice.

Coondoo - XC/Trail

Located 15 minutes South of Nowra, Coondoo is the original home of SCUM's Endurance races.  Originally 6km in length, the course was extended out to 8.5km for Rnd 3 of the 2008 BMC Working Week Series.  With a couple of small changes in altitude and plenty of course variation this is one of the jewels in SCUM's crown. Another of SCUM's annual XC race calendar courses as well as being utilised for our four and six hour Endurance events.  Single Speeders can choose between a 16 or 18 tooth cog.

Superbowl - XC/Trail

Located 20 minutes South of Nowra, Superbowl is the do it all course.  Almost 6km in length, this course offers short technical sections, flat twisty blasts, some modest climbing and a wha-hoo downhill section for all those gravity minded soles.  Just remember to make a conscience effort to look at the scenery as you ride by, it is simply awesome.  Another of SCUM's annual XC race calendar courses as well as being utilised for our four hour Endurance events.  Single Speeders can get away with an 18 or 20 tooth cog.

Butterfly - XC/Trail

Located 25 minutes South of Nowra, just 5 minutes from Superbowl, Butterfly  is our State level XC course. Approximately 5km in length, this course offers short technical sections, some short sharp climbs, followed by slightly longer climbs and a couple of short twisty downhill sections to break up the climbs.  The final course used in SCUM's annual XC race calendar.  Single Speeders try cross training, bring the bike with gears!

Funnelweb - DH

Located 50 minutes South of Nowra, Funnelweb  is SCUM's State level DH course.  Approximately 5 minutes of pure adrenaline pumping DH action.  This course offers everything the gravity crew love about DH, massive jumps, drop offs, rocky technical sections and fast straights.   This is not a beginners course, so don't bother bringing your bike unless it is DH specific, you have DH specific clothing and are an experienced DH rider.
